Ordering a custom replica ring might sound complicated — but the process is designed to be straightforward, even if you've never done anything like it before. Here's exactly what happens from the moment you submit your photos to the moment your replica arrives at your door.

Step 1: Submit Your Photos and Preferences

Everything starts with your reference photos. You don't need professional shots — a few clear smartphone photos taken in natural light are enough for most designs. Aim for:

  • A top-down view of the ring face
  • A side profile showing the band and setting height
  • An angled shot showing the overall silhouette

Along with your photos, you'll send your ring size and select your preferred finish (silver 925, white gold plated, yellow gold plated, rose gold plated, two tone, or solid gold) and center stone (cubic zirconia, moissanite, colored stone, or lab-grown diamond). If you have any notes about specific details — a particular prong style, a milgrain edge, side stones — include those too.

Step 2: Your CAD Design

This is the step that makes a Mirroring different from an off-the-shelf replica. Our designers turn your photos into a CAD design — a detailed 3D drawing of your ring — usually within 1–3 business days. You review it and tell us what to change. Revisions are unlimited.

Step 3: You Approve, Then We Build

Nothing goes into production until you have approved your CAD design. That approval is the green light: it's the point where you've confirmed the shape, the stone, the setting and the proportions are right, and the point from which your ring is being made specifically for you.

Step 4: Crafting Your Replica

Production begins with the band. Depending on your chosen finish, this may involve casting, plating, or hand-finishing. The center stone is then set by hand, followed by any additional details — pavé stones, engraving, or custom finishes.

Production typically takes 2–4 weeks after CAD approval, varying with the complexity of the design. If you're working toward a specific travel date, express production is available as an option when you order — it ships in 5–10 business days after CAD approval.

Step 5: Quality Check

Before your replica ships, it goes through a quality inspection. We check the stone setting, prong finishing, plating, sizing and overall accuracy against your reference photos.

Step 6: Shipping

Your replica is packaged in premium jewelry packaging and shipped to your address. Tracking is provided so you always know where your order is.

What Designs Can Be Replicated?

The vast majority of engagement ring styles translate well to replicas:

  • Solitaire settings (round, oval, cushion, emerald, pear, marquise)
  • Halo settings (single and double halo)
  • Three-stone settings
  • Pavé and micro-pavé bands
  • East-west and bezel settings
  • Vintage and art deco-inspired designs

Highly intricate bespoke designs may require additional reference images or measurements, but our team will guide you through that if needed — and you'll see the result in your CAD before anything is made.

Can I Add Engraving?

Yes. Personal engraving is available as an add-on when you order — a popular choice for couples who want the inside of the band to match their original ring exactly.

How Long Should I Allow?

Your CAD design comes back within 1–3 business days. After that it's however long you need to review and approve it, then 2–4 weeks of production after CAD approval, plus shipping. If you have a fixed date, order earlier rather than later.

Ready to Get Started?

The process is simpler than most people expect. Submit your photos and start your custom replica ring today — and travel with confidence knowing your real ring is safe at home.
